Registered Massage Therapist
Neurofunctional Acupuncture Practitioner
My mission is to help empower my patients to achieve their goals and to help optimize their health. Athletics have been my great passion from a young age, and over time this passion has grown to include fitness and preventive/rehabilitative healthcare. I find it extremely rewarding to successfully treat injuries that prevent patients from pursuing their fitness or athletic goals. This has led me to become a lifelong student and advocate in the field.
I am an experienced practitioner who can fluently communicate in English, Punjabi, and Hindi. I utilize techniques such as deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, fascial stretching, PNF Stretching, McMaster University Neurofunctional Acupuncture*, dry cupping, heat/cryotherapy, percussion therapy, joint mobilizations, kinesiology taping, and remedial exercise to influence:
- Range of motion
- Muscle tone
- Fascial tone
- Nervous system excitation/relaxation
- Blood flow
- Lymphatic fluid flow
- Joint movement dynamics
- Neuromuscular atrophy
I have extensive experience treating diverse populations including:
- Professional and amateur athletes
- Motor vehicle accident patients
- Patients with PTSD and other mental health conditions
- Patients living with disabilities
- Seniors with chronic conditions
- Substance withdrawal patients
- Perinatal women
- Infants and young children
- Palliative patients
I have several older family members, and have seen firsthand that the care and treatment of our aging and geriatric community members is often lacking. To better serve these patients, I am currently enrolled in the McMaster University School of Health Sciences’ Geriatric Certificate Program for Regulated Health Professionals. This course covers the best practices to employ when providing healthcare to aging and geriatric patients.
In the future, I plan to continue my education and training with courses on lymphatic drainage in order to better help patients with post surgical swelling, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, chronic venous insufficiency, lipedema and edema/swelling build up.
